Sean Burns / France Trail Tour
Psyched on a couple things posted on thecomeup today.
Probably the most entertaining bike check ever. Sean Burns is the greatest.
A damn good section reportedly off a Soul BMX DVD featuring Chase Hawk and Justin Inman on a trail tour around France. Filming, music, editing, riding, and spots are all on point. This edit made me really wish the Soul DVDs were available as purchasable downloads like the Props videos are.
Steven Hamilton Gets Lobster Spine

To those unfamiliar with BMX, Steven Hamilton is a maverick wonderkid who is unquestionably one of the most unique and talented BMX riders in history. Lately he’s reportedly taken a break from riding to do other stuff.. but it hasn’t stopped him from expressing himself in the form of a blog. I’ve been following it for a while now and the bizarre, sporadic updates coupled with his one-of-a-kind taste and sensibility have made it one of my favourite blogs on the internet.
He just posted up a whole bunch of really great photos, definitely worth checking out. DISGUISEDISGUISE
And just for entertainment’s sake, some of his best video sections after the jump.
Julian Wainwright

I love sports photography, but the confusion during the adoption of digital and the stylistic stagnation that followed got me feeling jaded about the scene for quite a while. However, the Olympics came and went and my opinion was completely changed. The likes of Vincent Laforet and Mike Powell really went all out to produce photos that are mainstream accessible but still damn awesome.
To make things even better, just noticed on Calikartel that Julian Wainwright produced a photo series of divers at the Olympics. It won 3rd prize in the Sports Action Stories category at the World Press Photo Awards. In a field of efficiency-centric photojournalistic styles and a trapped-in-a-box mentality, this is such a creative and well-executed way to interpret an Olympic situation. Really psyched on it. You can check out the full series here.
Recommendation: Audio Technica ATH-M40fs

I’m a fiend for headphones, so when my old pair of cans decided to abandon life I was again put on the lookout for new ones. Thankfully Brian Park came through with a recommendation to the Audio Technica ATH-M40fs.
Had them for about a month now and they’ve been brilliant. Sound is brutally accurate, they fit comfortably, and the build seems fairly decent. I’ve found myself diving into my music library just to relisten to tracks with these.
However, they are ’studiophones’ made for music nerds sitting in dark caves (L), so they: 1. Don’t block outside noises (suck on the bus). 2. Aren’t very portable, considering the jack adapter. 3. Produce really flat and accurate sound, so if you’re looking for mind-numbing bass and Pop EQ on that 128kbps Rihanna mashup, these are not for you.
At US$61 on Amazon they are an absolute steal. These things should cost way more for the sound. If you are in the market for headphones to listen to at home, the Audio Technicas come very highly recommended. Just don’t forget to buy a 1/4″ to mini adapter if you plan to use them with your ipod or computer.
