Heathers – Remember When (Live at Muzu) – [in HQ!! Yess]
Heathers: 19 year-old twin sisters from Dublin who go by the names of Ellie and Louise McNamara, aka Heathers. Mind-blowing harmonies. Am wholeheartedly addicted to this live version of Remember When.
Their album Here Not There is available on iTunes if you like your Irish slant on things, two to watch for sure.

Hudson Mohawke’s Guest Mix for Mary Anne Hobbs: This mix is an ADD adventure that doesn’t last long but is incredibly worthwhile. (S)mashing genius, imagine how fun it’d be to watch him play live.

Chemical Brothers – Star Guitar [dir. Michel Gondry]
Youtubers have been re-posting music videos in HQ, and last night I stumbled across one for Chemical Brothers’ Star Guitar. It would be a travesty not to post it here – this revolutionary video is just so mind-blowingly amazing it makes me want to train a lion to stand on a pin.
Also, make sure to watch this ridiculously cool Making Of if you haven’t seen it before. At 7:20 = viewer brain explodes. Ballalaarghhhhh
The Explosion Continues
This excerpt from the Australian soap Neighbours showed up on the Sonic Router blog recently. The quote at 2:22 is so =].
Dan: “Whats the racket?”
Libby: “Its called dubstep…”

That Fisheye Angle is _onkers
The video’s out! Dizzee Rascal’s collab with Armand Van Helden- Bonkers, as previously talked about on the blog here. A Summer anthem this one. Get yo rave on.
That fisheye angle is pretty nutcase. According to Semtex, it was shot on a special 360-degree camera with 6 lenses – the first time a camera like this has been used in a music video. If you’ve got more info on it lemme know! Real curious.
EDIT: Did a little digging and found this camera by Immersive media which combines streams from 11 separate lenses into one video. I really think this is the one, or something similar to it. The technology in that thing must be absurd.
Also, be sure to check out these POV Red Bull Surfing clips shot with the camera. Some flat-out amazing footage in there. Such a unique perspective, never seen anything like it.
Danny Mac
Big wheels; trials style; street environment. Most videos featuring those 3 elements are the butt of jokes in the bike world… But not if Danny Mac has his way.
Mac is a British rider with impossible tricks, smooth style, and the bike control of a deity. I’m just going to say it: this guy puts many BMX street riders to shame. So many moves in this video are explicitive inducing – sufficiently burly yet refreshingly creative (particularly at 3:12 and 4:02).
Bigger wheels and 2 brakes are the only substantial things differentiating him from a typical BMX street rider, yet this video is so unique to the repetitive barspin and tailwhip boredom everyone is sick of watching. BMX could learn from the creativity of this guy. Not hating, but I’m just saying it seems like most BMX street edits have been a little stale as of late.
Anyway, enjoy the video. It’s a must watch.
Decibel Bugs
Video for the 2007 dancehall/grime/noise/hiphop/dubstep, deep skank inducing dancefloor collapser, Poison Dart by The Bug [ft. Warrior Queen].
If this is any hint of the future, we can safely assume soundclashes are going in the direction of bass tanks.
BASS TANKS!!
Dan Vojtech

Only learnt about this guy today via Stuart Kennedy, Smoovebert’s blog, and Fubiz’s ffffound, but my mind is already blown.
Dan Vojtech, born just 22 years ago and hailing from the land of Czech Republic, is a photographer with a focus on fashion, lifestyle, and action sports. He is the main photographer and photo-editor of the magazines Board and Dirtbiker, and his bio says he’s in ‘cooperation with Nikon.’ A lot on the plate for someone who has been going to photo school the entire time and is graduating this year.
Mad respect Mr. Vojtech, you are absolutely killing it. Unquestionably some of the best action sport work to emerge in ages. His style is so unique and refreshing, IMO he is already one of the best in the world. Cannot wait to see more from him in the years to come.
Check out 28 images from Vojtech on Fubiz, and see his official website here.
Bill Cosby on Drinking
Bill Cosby is the greatest, and if you’ve never experienced the spot-on hilarity of his 1983 stand-up section on drinking and drunks, you absolutely have to watch this.

Voices Appreciation Post

(pic from databmx)
Voices caused an uproar in BMX when it first surfaced from the depths of the UK scene. Flashes of the name would pop up all over the place like it was a cult classic even before it was released – a BMX video from Britain where “almost everyone is brakeless.” (At the time this fact was still unique enough to be worth a mention).
After some online ordering and waiting anxiously for the mail I finally managed to nab a copy with that oh-so-nice subtle cover art – hand numbered no less – and proceeded to watch it a bazillion times over and over. It has since become one of my favourite videos ever.
Years later the sequel Tomorrow We Work emerged from the BMX microcosm of Britain and incredibly held up to the massive hype leading up to it’s release. New footage of Dan Cox gone freecoaster, more Joe Cox craziness (with an insane first bail clip), really great mixed clips and one all-out banger of a section from Josh Bedford. It solidified Joe Cox’s status as a masterful BMX video producer who was far more than just a one-hit-wonder.
So it goes without saying that if you are even remotely interested in BMX or videos, you should read this A-to-Z of Filming by the man himself on Ride UK. Mike Taylor’s section in the upcoming Sunday video sounds like it will be a banger. And all this talk of Steven Hamilton’s future ‘comeback’ section is building so much anticipation argh can’t handle it anymore.
